SIUC Clinical Psychology Diversity and Inclusion Committee
Action Items
1.
To make the program more inclusive of all individuals, Psy Di is asking all faculty and students, who feel safe doing so, to add their pronouns to their department bios and email signatures.
3.
Psy Di will survey current students to determine diversity and inclusion related wants and needs.
5.
An anonymous tip line will be developed for students to file diversity related concerns. All complaints will be brought to the attention of the faculty by the faculty advisor, Dr. Cormier.
7.
Psy Di will engage in outreach by holding events and developing mentorship programs for undergraduate students focused on graduate school application.
2.
Psy Di will host educational and cultural events for the students. Examples of such events include trivia nights, book clubs, and guest speakers.
4.
Given its inherent bias, Psy Di asks the faculty to eliminate the GRE requirement for admission to the SIU Clinical Psychology Program.
6.
Psy Di will plan to conduct a diversity panel for applicants during the SIU Clinical Psychology Open House.
8.
Psy Di will work with the university, program, and community partners to set up application fee waivers for first-generation students.
